Game of Thrones: Petyr Baelish and Lord Varys

First exchange between the two
Back when the show used have good writing
I hated Ned for this clip. Instead of saying shit to everyone he should have confessed what Aerys wanted to do like he told Brienne
GODS THE WRITING WAS STRONG!
this scene made me hate eddard
Jaime should be fucking king, in books and show
This is the mental battle that was the best and I am angry that this didn't come to a head between the pair after Season 3. This was the rivalry that mattered. Instead, LF and Varys became bit parts to other peoples story. Sansa and Arya had to be TOLD that they were being manipulated by Baelish by their magical brother(deleted scene) and Varys was killed in the weakest way possible.
Council businessssssssssssssssssss
When the CIA and the FBI are having a talk.
Jaime looks like the golden knight from crash royale.
I like how Ned doesn't necessarily dislike Jaimie for killing Aerys. He dislikes him because he only did it once it was clear he had to go turncoat. It wasn't breaking his oath that irks Ned, it's the fact it was only broken once It was convenient.
lol get chided idiot
2:34 Petyr is talking about Young Griff, a Blackfyre.........Damn you DD
man, the first couple of seasons were GOOD.
You seeing me or me seeing you!
I miss Television.
Gods the show was strong then.
Was that you under the bed 🤣
jaime wanted ned's approval like a dad
Series littlefinger is incredibly stupid.
Love these dynamics. I’m nearly through season four and I’m excited to see how it evolves with another 4 seasons to go!!
It’s already peaked
Jaimayweather Lannister
The thing to always remember during this verbal pissing contest is both of these men are killers. There’s an edge to them most no one else would ever have.
Ned Stark was such a sanctimonious prick.
After all these years, I'm starting to believe Ned did everything possible to get himself decapitated
Ned was being a dick. He chastised him for not doing anything and then chastised him again for doing something. Pick a take man.
Ned is a bit too much like Stannis. Too strict. Too unyielding. Too bound by what was considered "honorable" instead of what was good and right. Killing the Mad King was a good thing. He deserved to die, and didn't deserve any "honorable" death. If Ned would have relaxed a little he could have had Jaime as an ally.
"was that you under the bed" 💀
Jaime wanted Ned's approval so bad here. It was like a son talking to his father.
Jimmyjams@CRock: Yo, mah boi, what's ur K/D? im on a streak Ed&toast@NorthCoast: Dude, you're stomping pubs, that doesn't count. Jimmyjams@CRock: Be nice bro, ain't my fault ur team got cheapshot by end boss Jimmyjams@CRock: Which I pwnzrd btw, ur welcome Ed&toast@NorthCoast: Teamswitching is cringe, not clutch. Jimmyjams@CRock has logged off Ed&toast@NorthCoast: Camping killstealer. Ed&toast@NorthCoast has logged off.
It was always weird how the people who started a civil war against the mad king also chastise Jamie for breaking his oath to the same king. If a King is unworthy of an oath by his lords and their armies than surely he is also unworthy of an oath by his king's guard.
It's like every word out of Ned's mouth was a sarcasm and jaime is crying from inside
Neds a idiot sorry.
I love how Jaimie is trying his normal brash, arrogant insults but they just don't work. Either Ned has a good comeback, or a blunt statement filled with pure contempt and disgust.
To me this scene shows what a hypocrite Ned Stark is. He thinks Jaime has no honor because he did nothing to stop the Mad King from burning Ned's father and brother. But he also thinks Jaime has no honor because he killed the Mad King to stop him from burning everyone else years later. Ned thinks of himself as a man of unwavering principles, but he's a self-serving moral relativist just like everyone else in Westeros.
All desires are valid to a man with a full purse.
It’s sad to think if Ned just listened and sympathized and befriended this guy it might not have gotten so far. Jaime clearly respected Ned. And Ned just needed to be talked to to understand. This dude wanted to blow them all up.
Jaime is a classic example of a sharp tongued English Southern person. Eddard is a classic example of a northern person who can break that bullshit with one well placed line.
Rolling my eyes… Ned stubborn as Viltrumite and Jaime annoying witty like Deadpool.
Ned is insanaly wrong here. But his bias and prejudice won't let him see it as it is. I can't blame him, but I can't agree with him either.
Great scene. You can feel Jamie's absolute insecurity and desperation for validation from a noble, accomplished, knight like Ned. Its a pity. Ned never would have approved of a man like Jamie, because Ned lived in a world of absolute delusion himself. After all, how can a man allow his wife, whom he loves dearly, abuse daily the son of his sister. To keep a secret, of course. But is this justice? Absolutely not. GRRM really wrote a masterfully complicated world, I just hope he actually finishes it.
Never trust a skinny man with a mustache.
1:24 I wonder why the best return fire Littlefinger could do was to talk about the lack of Varys' balls
Ned is honourable to a fault. Jamie of course idolises him for that and for being the man who bested his idol Ser Arthur Dayne. Jamie is ashamed of killing the Mad King because it was dishounerable breaking his vow as a kingsgaurd. He did it for good reasons but you can see how much it hurts him that he sacrificed his honour to save the city and that those he admires the most refuse to acknowledge that sacrifice.
Back then, in those early days you couldn't be certain with these two who was the more treacherous. In the end you know that Baelish would betray anyone to progress himself....Varys was actually incredible loyal....but to no person.....to the realm.
In a fucked up universe somewhere Baelish is king and Varys is his hand
This dagger is the Targaryen heirloom, upon it graved the "song of ice and fire"
Ned was truly DUMB.
Both Varys and Little Fingers were so messy and sassy! 😂
One of the best scenes of the whole series.
Ned was an honorable man to a fault. I think Jaime was a hero for killing the mad king. Ned thinks they're the only ones who had to endure the mad king's tyranny. But maybe if Jaime didn't kill the mad king, he would be okay with him a bit. Ned's alright with Barristan even though he also served the mad king.
